Listen to the Classical Greats at the InterHarmony Concert Series

Don’t miss the latest installment of the InterHarmony Concert Series coming to Fort Worth! Performing at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, this showcase performance explores the radiant contrasts and complements of two renowned composers, Tchaikovsky and Brahms, on March 24th.

All of Texas is invited to enjoy this rare opportunity to compare two musical titans of the Romantic period through their most beloved chamber works. Hosting a virtuoso roster of internationally acclaimed musicians, the Modern Art Museum presents a dual program of timeless classical music featuring Brahm’s Piano Trio No.1 in B Major, Op. 8 as well as Souvenir de Florence String Sextet, Op. 70 from Tchaikovsky.

Come hear the inspiring works and gain insights into the longstanding feud between these master composers that lasted all their lives. Though the men were contemporaries and shared the same birthdate, May 7th, they shared not a regard for each other's music. Brahms once infamously fell asleep during a rehearsal of the younger Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony, and the aristocratically elegant Tchaikovsky held a deep disdain to Brahms, writing in his diary that he considered Brahms “a very untalented person, full of pretensions but utterly devoid of creative inspiration.” Hear the harmonious brilliance and the musical tension as pieces by these two greats share the stage at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth!
